This is my story from New Year’s Day.
Down Bold Street, I was making my way.
And it’s an unbelievable story to hear.
I was transported back to yesteryear!

Bold Street has often done this before.
Hooked people into the past’s trapdoor.
I saw dated fashions and shops long gone.
I saw a dark sky were the sun once shone.

60’s style cars, I saw the motorists drive.
This was no longer New Year’s Day 2025.
I was perplexed, I thought I’d lost my mind.
No rational explanation was there to find.

Was this a nightmare, would I soon awake?
Did the past want a new prisoner to take?
So what was happening…how could this be?
I ran and ran, until the present day I could see.

I had escaped the clutches of Bold Street.
Where the past and the present often meet.
In the shadow of St Luke’s, I felt its grip.
The scary story of the Bold Street time slip.

So, if you’re in Bold Street, be always aware.
It gives you no warning, no time to prepare.
The time slip appears right out of the blue.
One day the same thing might happen to you!

(Yes!!! back in my local Spellow Lane Library on a Saturday for the first time since the arson attack last summer, I love spending Saturday's here, earphones in, writing stuff and its lovely and warm!
