"The Forbidden Fruit of Scarcity"

In Eden's garden, where abundance reigns,
Eve's gaze fell upon the single, forbidden tree's stains.
A fruit, so tempting, yet so small,
Compared to the bounty, that surrounded all.

But her eyes, blinded by desire's flame,
Saw only the lack, the single, forbidden claim.
She reached, and took, and tasted the bite,
And in that moment, her heart took flight.

For in that choice, she saw only the dearth,
The scarcity, the lack, the emptiness of heaven.
She overlooked the abundance, the plenty, the store,
The trees, the flowers, the rivers, that flowed evermore.

And so it is, with us, in our daily strife,
Our eyes, fixed on the lack, the scarcity, the knife.
We see only the emptiness, the void, the space,
And overlook the abundance, the plenty, the grace.

Our minds, a canvas, painted with the hues of fear,
See only the limitations, the boundaries, the spear.
We strive, and struggle, and reach, and grasp,
For the things we think we lack, the things that will forever last.

But what if we looked, with eyes anew,
At the abundance, the plenty, the beauty, shining through?
What if we saw, with hearts untainted,
The bounty, the richness, the fullness, that's always maintained?

Perhaps, we'd find, that our cups are full,
That our hearts are overflowing, with a love that's truly whole.
Perhaps, we'd see, that our lives are complete,
That the abundance, the plenty, is always at our feet.

But alas, we're blinded, by the veil of fear,
And see only the scarcity, the lack, the spear.
And so we reach, and take, and taste, and fall,
Into the abyss of emptiness, the void, the darkness, the wall.

"Oh, Eve, dear Eve, why did you not behold,
The lush gardens, the vibrant life, that unfolded?
Why did you covet, the single, forbidden tree,
And overlook the paradise, that was yours to see?

Why did you choose, the fruit of doubt and fear,
And neglect the abundance, that was always near?
Why did you trade, the beauty, the wonder, and the might,
For a single, fleeting taste, of the forbidden delight?"

I wonder, did they have Granny Smiths in those days?
