"NOT LIKE THAT!"

entry picture

When I was a young man and in my prime (a teenager) I took lessons in Aikido – a martial art form more deadly even than full contact origami.

I happened to mention to the tutor, a middle aged man who floated about most of the time in flowing robes, that I played rugby.

“Let me show you how to evade tackles using Aikido skills” he said. “Come at me with a tackle”.

I took a step or two back and flew horizontally at his midriff like a 14 stone javelin.

He lay on the floor curled up in a ball holding his ribs and wheezed, “Not like that”.

Mock ye not JC. The Origami paper tiger is a fearsome beast...many an unsuspecting office worker has suffered death by a thousand paper cuts; a most painful end!

When he eventually got up, Trevor, he repositioned me to his liking and did some twirly-twirly stuff to show me how to evade rugby tackles!
And thanks for the Likes, Tom, Holden, Naomi and pall.

I think he must've been thinking about those namby-pamby football tackles! 😉
