The Columbus aftermath

How I pity his ghost if it is still in existance

seeing the results of what his legacy came to be

after he and his crew courageously

sailed sailed and landed

in a boat less than todays trawler size unbelievably!

coast to coast continent webbings of railways

iron horses pulling packed to the gunnels coach after

coach after coach

filled with pioneers hunters gold grabbers good time gals

many more various fortune seekers everyone about to

on land not theirs encroach

massacring Indians buffalo beaver

all compiling a money making shopping death list

soon up sprung aptly named skyscrapers

their heads among the ethereal mists

each holstered with the weaponry of armageddon

prepared for a long distance showdown

should the Reds make good their threats

the yanks not wanting to be caught on the back foot

massively militarily hedging their bets

Oh Chris!

not your fault for opening the door to this madhouse

of the coming future  you would not have had a clue

I just hope your ghost is resting at peace

following your success or was it?

don't ask Trump whatever you do!

Wow! thank you so much Rolph for being so quick off both the liking and commenting blocks-how kindly you have been to so many other writers as well as myself on WOL since your arrival

And I am convinced that for being so kind you are much appreciated by those other people.

It really does mean a lot to us all-
Best and warmest of regards-Tom.

Tom, your words powerfully capture the weight of history and its "unintended" consequences. I appreciate the way you evoke both pity and reflection, making us consider the true cost of Columbus's legacy. Your statement is concise yet profound, inviting deep thought on how the past continues to shape the present. Well said!
Regards,
Rolph
