a Red and a Yellow

a putrid stench surrounds us,

the willful piss of greed spreads

a dark watermark that seeps and

stains every facet of our lives

two bullies seek to divide the spoils

wipe their filthy boots clean upon

someone else’s precious land,

once a proud protector, now rotten

at the core, yellow mollifies the hunger

of red, a vengeful beast, who feasts

upon another’s defenseless flesh,

yellow busy digging pearls as

self-sought recompense gloats with

pride and avarice at this day’s work,

two evil bullies red and yellow whose

untimely end will shortly come

"Untimely end will shortly come" I hope you are right - I feel a sense of panic every time I watch the news and am sure I am not alone in that.

Let's hope so, Graham. The analogy of wiping filthy boots clean is particularly apt.

I've heard it said that we are just real estate to the two of them.
