I would if I could

I WOULD IF I COULD

By The Urban Poet

I would if I could but I can’t so I won’t

Do things I don’t do in the heat of the mo’

Pull ladies that are half my age

If you think it’s ok then

we’re on the same page

Now there’s things that I would like to do

Such as paragliding when I’ve had a few

A bungee jump would go down well

But the truth is mate, I’m scared as hell

I’d love to karaoke to all the top tunes

But I reckon that I would clear the room

‘Cos poetry is my thing you see

So you’ll have to put up,

with little old me

Now when I really get going

there’s no holds barred

Especially when I’ve had a few jars

There’s a chance some verses

you might have missed

So I’m sorry if I’m a bit Brahms and Lyst

But the poetry always seems to flow

At every gig and at all the shows

But you may have had enough

and want me to go,

Well I would if I could, but I can’t so I won’t!
