Sweet Embrace

I woke up this morning thinking,

"Today, I'm going to work and play in the garden of the Universe."

Nothing is mine I realized!

This house I live in is made of wood that came from trees that grew from the soil of this planet.

These people that I love will one day return to the arms of the Universe.

These legs that carry me from my bed to my kitchen to all the places that I visit will one day forever cease their movement.

Nothing belongs to me!

So I shall cherish each place, each person, each step, each breath,

I shall welcome all with appreciation and respect,

until that day when I, too, fold into the sweet embrace of the Universe.
