Our dying breath
Covid hit hard
Strangers and families in the backyard
Distant figures sharing pints
One of many rare sights
"Only those that lost still remember"
Painful deaths lost to the never
A different dimension for most
Yet the ghosts that linger are loved the most
Will you speak of it?
In schools, clubs and gatherings just a bit?
Not a word refering to it can be spoken it seems
But the millions that lost still live it in their dreams
So how will you remember covid as anniversary's pass?
With an uncomfortable shudder from the past?
Long days of pain and suffering all but forgotten
With memories fading, dying and left to rotten
