I threw a stick & it came back

A boomerang! It knocked my hat

I picked the stick up off the floor

And threw the bloody thing some more

But every time it came right back 

I said, “C'mon, cut me some slack!”

It hit my chest, it hit my face 

But, still, I threw it in disgrace 

Then, found inscribed upon the thing

The words that made my sane bell ring:

 

Don't beat yourself with the same stick

It renders you blind, & a bit thick!
