My Constant Companion
Anxiety, my constant shadow,
A flame that flickers, yet dims my light.
You reside between joy and sorrow,
A delicate line where emotions collide.
Your presence is a weight I bear,
A nagging fear that's always there.
With every breath, your whispers silence me,
A constant reminder of uncertainty.
You claim to take a step back in dark spaces,
But your reflection shines bright in my eyes.
You fill my space, leaving no room to breathe,
A constant companion I've learned to receive.
Yet still I rise, and face the day,
And search for calm in every way.
Though you may linger, I'll find my voice,
And learn to live with you, and make some choice.
