East Manchester & Tameside Stanza

entry picture

The East Manchester & Tameside Stanza is a new Poetry Society 'Stanza' group based in the Cheshire area – open to anyone with an interest in reading and writing poetry, whether or not they are a member of the Poetry Society.

The second meeting of the newly launched East Manchester and Tameside Stanza in July was a great success, with new members present.

The group takes the format of discussing the work of a published poet, doing a writing exercise, and sharing one (or two, time permitting) of the attending poet's own poems.

The poem up for discussion at the next August meeting, as chosen by a member, is 'The Birkdale Nightingale' by Jean Sprackland, which can be found here:

The next meeting is to be held on Tuesday 31st August at 7.30pm-9.30pm in the Bamford Room upstairs at the Joshua Bradley pub in Hyde.

Although it's a monthly event, probably last or second to last Tuesday each month,  the date is changeable depending on the venue's availability so email to check

New members are welcome to come along!
