Who Pays the Real Cost?
Tesco Tesco
(audience) We say no!
Treating our land like
A big fat hoe
Tesco Tesco
(audience) We say go!
Destroying local businesses
Spreading GMO
We don’t need your no good
Cheap ‘goods’, low wages
2 quid battery chicken
Homeworkers of all ages
Working hard and gaining little
Being kept in poverty-
When you buy from Tescos,
You’re paying for food poverty
And animal cruelty,
Food miles
Massive stores with
Plastic aisles
Air conditioned food waste
All for profit not for taste
Misleading complex labelling
Food waste and excess packaging
Unfair bananas, sweatshop pyjamas,
They're killing off the local farmers
Salty processed junk food
Unethical sales of turtles and frogs
‘So what if it happens in China’?!
What if they did that here, to dogs?
Who pays the real cost of supermarket price wars?
Pop! Pop! Pop! They’re opening up more stores!
With 3.4 billion pounds of profit made in 2010:
They say ‘every little helps' because they’re talking about THEM
WE lose our suppliers,
Farmers lose their jobs
Workers worldwide earn next to nothing
While Tesco takes and Tesco ROBS
Am I being clear?
That not only local shops disappear?
But also the environment and community,
And all the things that we hold dear
So who pays the real cost of supermarket clone wars?
Who pays the price, as they open up their new stores?
On your street
And my street
And every 20 metres
Ignoring local voices
And chopping down trees and
You can form a barricade
And boycott their cheap shit,
But my question about all of this is
What MORE can we do about it??
Tesco Tesco
(audience) We say no!
STOP treating our land
Like a big fat hoe
Tesco Tesco
(audience) We say go!
We're going to put a stop to you-
You breeding corporate psycho.

Hi Zion,
Loved "Who pays the real cost?"! I wrote one on the same theme once, called "Every Little Helps",but it's gone missing. You've inspired me to give it another go!...and it's true...their shops do breed and pop up seemingly every few weeks!
