2010 sees CUISLE Limerick City International Poetry Festival celebrating its fifteenth season. Walt Whitman said ‘To have great poets there must be great audiences too’, join the great audiences at CUISLE with a selection of readings, events and book launches, to choose from. Evening readings take place in the beautiful surroundings of Daghdha in Johns Square, a full schools’ programme and relaxed lunchtime readings at the Hunt Museum followed by a convivial ‘Poet’s Convention’ where you can join the poets for a chat and a cup of coffee.
In keeping with its goal to establish Limerick City as a centre of excellence for poetry locally, nationally, and internationally, this year CUISLE hosts some of the most important and influential figures from the world of contemporary poetry, with the participation of fifteen poets from four countries. This years’ festival will be launched by Abbot Mark Patrick Hederman of Glenstal Abbey at Daghdha in John’s Square at 7pm on Wednesday 13th October. Among the festival events, the annual poetry publication Stony Thursday will be the launched at 7pm on Thursday 14th October in Daghdha.
