Mr. Cameron

Government announced

They’re cutting jobs, increasing

Our unemployment.

Folks on benefits

Must go on out and get jobs.

What jobs exactly?

In pain or work-shy,

Who will want to employ them?

When there’s so much choice?

Wonder what planet

Our prime minister is on,

It sure ain’t this one!

Thanks Greg - yes, it was the last verse that came to me first!
So in agreement, Jeff, glad you have clarified my thoughts with your comments, thank you.
Cynthia, thank you so much for your kindness. xx

Lynn, a fabulous work, brilliantly topical and killingly haiku. You are an admirable talent, Girl.

Nice work Lynn and agree with sentiment, I work in benefits so have a good understanding of whats goin on.

Yes, people with no intention of working should be persuaded back into work, but to do it all at the same time as slashing 500000 jobs and get lone parents to now get work when their youngest is 7, when there are 2 million out of work already, the maths dont work!

Yes we know there is massive debt and something needs to be done, but theres nothing like getting carried away! Jeff X

Hi Lynn. I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but I've just noticed that all your verses are haiku, and your second and fourth work just as well as self-contained ones ... especially the last one!

Thanks for comment, Stef. Don't get me wrong, scroungers annoy me as well, but what is the solution? I still think no one will want to employ them! Naturally, I totally agree with you about the bankers, and criminally low wages. And getting the bike out may be an idea if there is anywhere to go!! Thanks again Stef, Luv Lynn xx

Good evening again Lynn-half agree with this poem-but OH! at some point the scroungers(not genuine work seekers)have to be elbowed-if not we are ending up with a sub-culture-leading to a worsening for further generations etc-as long as he gives the (*)bankers a good sorting out as well-they are definitely white collar criminals for the most from what we hear-as for jobs,a lot of that blame lies with firms paying crap wages do you think? that doesnt inspire the situation by a long shot-maybe its time for workers to be getting 'that bike'out again? lets hope that the old fighting spirit is still alive-thanks Lynn-Stef-xx
