Elusive
Sloth and Righteousness argued in the street,
Common Sense told them to button it.
Freedom sat on the fence.
Sloth slunk off,
Righteousness argued the point,
Common Sense felt weary,
Freedom sat on the fence.
The sun came out to play,
Righteousness slipped into shade,
Common Sense went to prevail elsewhere.
Freedom sat on the fence.
Optimism and Heartache met in the street,
Optimism tried her very best,
But Heartache still suffered on.
Freedom sat on the fence.
Dreaminess blew kisses around.
Sobriety passed in disapproval,
But Dreaminess didn’t care.
Freedom sat on the fence.
A rain cloud passed across the sun,
Another came looking fiercer.
Soon now it would rain down, yet still…
Freedom sat on the fence…

I really like this too - I can see Freedom being sat on the fence, as to me it says 'holding mutually contradictory opinions'. This approach gains one no friends in life heh, but does give the individual freedom to believe in whatever the hell they want - to see both sides and to agree with both sides on differing points.
