A Man Walked Into A Room
A man and a room.
A man walks into a room.
He's a man, definitely a man.
Not a lady, or a unicorn,
or an urchin.
Does he seek out virgins?
Not that I'm aware of.
Was he at any time a lady?
A man walks into a room.
The definite article of a man.
Walking into a room.
Is he Our man?
Our man walks into a room.
Tense?
Our man walked into a room.
Our man walks into a room.
Present tense.
Whose room? Hotel, office, dining area?
His room.
Our man walks into his room.
How does he walk?
Does he limp, hop, skip, stroll?
How he gets there, is that important?
Our man is in his room.
Our man is in his room.
He stands by a window, his window,
the only window, and waits.
Outside is a Tupperware sky
and a silence that stands half asleep.
Our man is in his room.
Our man.

Very interesting, John. Like a bunch of too-clever scriptwriters 'idea dumping' as they try to frame the opening scene of an episode, hoping inspiration will finally hit on a theme. There seems to be one major writer who is the front liner. Or this could be an internal monologue of someone drafting a story in his mind, a preparatory 'me, myself and I' investigation of an idea. I really like 'The definite article of a man'; it took a moment to peg it. Also, after all that discussion, all you get is 'our man'. If I've missed a major metaphor, please tell me.
