The Devil May Cry

The devil may cry

the devil may cry, tonight

he realised

he's despised

responsible for persicution and

genocide

Wishing he was by God's side

You've been,

by his side

now your leaving to conquer

your fears

as you leave

you can hear his tears

You doing him wrong

as we all should

drag his name, through

the ancient mud

He went down to georgia,

wasn't welcome,

cast him away from his own detention

fuck redemption

dance with the shaman and

call up the gods

fornicate with the muses and

possess their hearts

The devil may cry

the devil may cry, tonight

he's no purpose,

no reason to live

nothing to take

nothing to give

he used up your morals,

you have something left

give the kiss of life to a

wild child

"Carpe diem" my lonelly friend

you won't see the devil again

he's in us all

but we have control

our hearts are big, his soul

is small

The devil may cry,

the devil may cry

the devil may cry

Hello Richard, i must admit to having the feeling of compassion for anyone who can relate to themselves in this poem. There's a very lonely person inside there who may not even realize it.
Going around in some kind of hopeless vision of finding someone to relate to without giving too much of themselves away.
But then, i've always had a very vivid imagination and always one for the underdog, much to my own dismay, i'm sorry to say.
Good stuff, Janet.

I bet this sounds really good delivered in a strong voice at an open mic event. Interesting take on the Devil.

An interesting perception of the devil and evil, like it, although I'll have to read it a couple more times to get my head completely round it. Did you read my blog 'Genocide' in May? I'm sure the devil is in there! Jeff

ps I've been doing a bit of alternative stuff lately, but there should be some more deep meaningful material out in July!
pps I will be at the Salutation pub in Manchester tomorrow night if you can make it, it would be good to meet you, cheers jeff
