After our headliner and special guests we have 2 hours to fill with OpenSpace slots so if you'd like to read at a poetry event on Valentine's day then post on the event wall or OpenMind page.

As it is a Valentine's event, I think I'll share one of the poems I'll be performing that night. It's an anti-Valentine's sonnet, I think it's important to have a good balance between pro and anti Valentine's pieces this night. 

It’s just a day for capitalist broken dreams,
Love sucked out the soul + ripped at the seams.
Fuck credit, our hearts are feeling the crunch,
Of a world that doesn't care, its lost in despair, a sordid affair.

Prostitution of the soul,
The "O" in love fucked through the hole.
Forgive me for sounding brash,
But Uncle Joe will give you love if you give him the cash.

Heaven knows humanity needs it,
Emotional haemophiliacs society bleeds it.
Till nothing is left but a carcass to rot,
The remanent of love the world forgot.

So if you truly wish to give something nice,
Then give your love: a present beyond price.
