Good effort

I despise the phrase 'good effort'
It's like I know you tried but...
Maybe this just isn't for you
And maybe the time for you to give up is due
They say it's nothing personal and they know you tried
It's kind of like comparing you to a stood up bride
You're ready to embrace a new life
You'r going to upgrade from girlfriend to wife
You're standing there patiently waiting
Then your husband don't show up which is kind of frustrating
But he might just show up soon
Although it's now night and he was supposed to be there at noon
Good effort is a nice way of saying you gave it your all
But you're just setting yourself up for a fall
