Tenby Arts Festival writing competition
The 2011 Tenby Arts Festival Writing Competition is now open. Closing date for entries is 15 July, 2011. There are two categories - short story and poetry - and prizes are the same for each category: first prize 150, second prize £70, third prize £50. There are also prizes of £25 for the best story and the best poem entered by writers resident in West Wales.
Short stories should not exceed 1,500 words. Poems should be a maximum length of 40 lines. Entry fees are £4 for each short story, £4 for a single poem, £6 for two poems, and £8 for three poems. The competition judge this year is Simone Mansell Broome, a published poet, organiser of literary and broader creative events, and active in a variety of poetry societies and writing groups.
Separate entry forms are needed where submissions for both categories are made. The competition rules are to be found at www.tenbyartsfest.co.uk
