Round & Round the Rengabout
First of all, many thanks to Sean, Winston Julian and others for all of the work they put into the excellent Mankinholes weekend. Thank you also to Joy for her great kindness in giving me a lift on my way home. It is almost certain that I should be apologising to all those I have offended although I can't remember. I will simply hope that as I have forgotten it they may also.
Anyway, here is one of the renga products:
The kingfisher reflected on its position.
A chub is contented with calm water.
Sunbathing is incompatible with water lilies.
A chubby king is dethroned.
The blind don't suffer from seasickness,
the motion of the earth and waves are the same.
Inner mists reduce visibility behind my sunglasses
screen wipers on and wind down the windows.
It's all very well pouring outside
but when you can't turn the shower off.......
Or the company on
Time to reflect
Contemplate, take stock
and move on or off
and let the hills infuse in your brain
as you let the train take the strain.
Karen and Alison and Jay
Malcolm, Chris, Julian and Stephen and Martin.
Hurry up you souls Renga is startin'

As you know I left on saturday night and missed the Renga, I have a horrible feeling that I made a pratt of myself without taking a drop!! Obviously this was never my intention and it'd be hard to explain how anyone could get over stimulated by a weekend away writing poetry, as you know there's a bit more to it than that. Having said that it was a great weekend and it was a pleasure to meet such a kind group of people including of course the Diamond Geezer - Best wishes Dave
