upon the missing

upon the missing
------------------------

the sun sets on the missing
but
if you run fast enough, rises,
or wait long enough
comes back tempered
prizes the knowledge, a previous day
learning as spirit wiser
content with flesh,ironic decay
and the tide advances and recedes
washes away
in sand all messages hopefully read
for everything
a cycle turning
for
no man no woman
will planet wait
and friends-;only guests,
on natures stage
replaces,
even with hollow
and blessed the soul never dies
finds a way like a pagan
for meeting, in many lives.
patience
upon the crest of the incoming
when soul
seek and open
who knows what arrives.

This is very spiritual and profound...
I am in constant awe of your ability to express such emotion, sensitivity, and imagery...

Je commence à voir de plus en plus...
et ça me plais énormément...

hi Pete,
very nice poem. life and death are in a constant circle, and Im sure we all have in one life time or another been friends, sat in a bunker at war time with each other, been married, been parents to each other, you name it! Very exciting really,I figure it this way, I have known you a long time, but even longer then we have been alive, but even longer then forever, and this friendship will never end, as life never ends, we just get recycled, each life a lesson,ah the excitment of life, what a blessing to have more then one! great poem!

thank you.
well you have seen the same thing as I
the idea of the poem was an antidote to days spent thinking about missing people or pets
a way of becoming more receptive if a loss occurs, in this way so getting over the pain
for example if someone passes over, the thought that they woulld wish you to love again even though that would hurt, now the pair are no longer together.

love after lost love
and also
the excitement of a new tide
never knowing what its oceanic arms have gone out and found
and what it puts at your feet
expecting nothing
for to be open and to forgive
to understand the passing
and to accept
with a knowledge you loved the best
then the Karmic prize
is automatic

Hi Pete, I agree with Janet, a lot to this, will have to read it again!

Very spiritual in a way, and if Janet's right, it could explain why children remember things from a previous life up to say 5 year old?

Anyway, lovely words, which I also thought too for your 'bastion' poem, very mystical description I thought, cheers Jeff

PS thank for your comments and encouragement about my poem 'When will it pass' very much appreciated, see you soon Jeff

There's much more to this than meets the eye.
The last four lines say it all for me. Incoming tide brings incoming souls seeking a place to survive.
It has been said that as a soul leaves a human body before the heart stops beating, another soul can take its place. Scary thought. But might go some way to explaining why people suffer total amnesia after an accident.
Love Janet.xx
