Trev's USA Tour 2011
Written on location at Barton Springs, named after the man who first settled the area in 1837, William Barton
13.04.11 - 38) Icy and clear, year after year
Drawing Indian, tourist and pioneer
What ever else brings people to Barton Springs
Two of the waters, named after his daughters
Two baby buffaloes that were tame
To see them the sightseers came
Indian attack always a danger
Were they expecting the Lone Ranger
As more and more people knew,
Barton Springs popularity grew
They came from afar, first by horse then by car
Then there was a plan, by a clever businessman
To increase enjoyment and provide local employment
So places of work, grew where turtles did lurk
Now today, there’s recreation and play
Handy for a weekend get away
Open all year whatever the season
Not to visit you’ll need a damn good reason
