Lippfest poetry contest
Organisers of Lippfest 2011 have launched a poetry competition to tie in with the festival in Leeds in September. Entries close quite soon, on 14 July 2011. Winners will be announced at a special event at the festival on 24 September. All profits made from this competition will go towards supporting independent presses through the annual Lippfest festival and other festivals throughout the country. The judges are Pat Borthwick and Mike Barlow Prizes are £ 250, 1st, £ 150, 2nd, £100 3rd, plus the £50 Leeds prize (those eligible must have a Leeds 'LS' postcode). All prize/award winners will receive a poetry book from the LIPPfest book fair. Entries are £4 per poem or 3 poems for £10. To enter, click on this link.

Ian, I'm absolutely certain that the general contest is open to all, but the Leeds prize is only for those with an LS postcode ... now I've just checked by clicking on the link in the story, and that is the case. Hope you enter, and good luck if you do! Greg
