silver lady midnight moon
When silver lady midnight moon
Caresses sand and sea
I can hear her gently calling
A calling out to me
She is pushing me and pulling me
And luring me along
For she wants me in the ocean
Where she says, that I belong.
She wants me in the ocean
She wants me in the sea
She wants me neath the foaming
Rage so the waters cover me.
She lulls me with the rocking waves
And soothes me in the spray
Relaxing in her briny arms
She carries me away.
She draws me ever downward
Onto the ocean bed
I hear her softly sing her song
As the darkness fills my head
I fall into a slumber
So deep I cannot wake
I cease all struggle for the breath
I do not wish take.
She whispers kindly to me
As I sink beneath the foam
She is soothing me
And calming me
For she wants to take me home.
When the waves are over me
And when I breathe no more
She will gently lift me upward
And place me on the shore

love your poem mum, i like the way its not sentimental about the nature of the sea. Ive heard that drowning is in fact very painful as your lungs explode with water!! I agree youve caught that beguiling nature.
its fun to think the moon and the sea might have an army of mermen and that they want to claim female souls, probably maxed out on smelly male sailors ;) keep posting.
