Economics are
arithmetical facts:
and politics-
an interpretative smear.
Some historians blend
(with aims to offend)
those texts through conjecture
the results are a spectre

You're confusing the issue Cynthia...unless otherwise stated-(as in +1 or -1) 1+1 always equals 2, as I qualified in my remark re 'dialectics'. Re 'the egg'. You are confusing a simple statement of fact with the qualifier of morality- I said: 'If I take an egg and crush it in my hand- it is an event- indisputable- and only becomes a matter for 'dispute' when a sentient being 'intervenes''. Murder is also an event and is covered by my initial statement.

Yes, we should correspond more. I have always thought so. BTW, since +1 and -1 = 0, IMO, quoting really simple arithmetic does not have secure bargaining power. And what if the egg had an embryo inside it? Is that still just an event, or murder? I love the grit of active discussion. You now seem more open to active 'give and take', without suspicion, or a kind of gentle snarling. Or am I being too personal?

- 'Economics are arithmetical': (1+1 = 2)and unless we assume (dialectically ) that all statements are subject to inference ('it depends upon the context of the sayer and the listener and a myriad of other influential factors) then we can rely upon Formal Logic to serve us in this instance. My remark is that Politics IS the philosophical 'duster' that smears the very real truth of events - HISTORICAL happenings- and not the interpretation of those events. If I take an egg and crush it in my hand- it is an event- indisputable- and only becomes a matter for 'dispute' when a sentient being 'intervenes'. When a star explodes in a far off galaxy it happened whether a human is aware of the fact or not- it happens regardless of our witnessing it. Historians (not historical events) are - as you say 'want to be subjective'- and use 'politics' to rearrange the objective reality of an action.
The foto is one I have used recently with such 'Rene Magritte' abandon on Facebook with 'I see no apple; I see no plate.' and various plays upon the phrase.
We should correspond more.

But Math can be manipulated to suit the scheme. And History will always be challenged because even current reports are biassed by opposing sides, and interfering analysts. So-called facts - time, place and antagonists - are often skewed unintentionally, or purposefully.

Good theme. I miss the inference of the apple in the bowl, maybe red on white too.
