Twenty-five poets lined up at Leeds one-day festival
Twenty-five poets from all over the UK will be reading at the Leeds Independent Presses Poetry Festival on Saturday 24 September at the Carriageworks in the centre of Leeds. The 25 are : Paul Adrian, Rachael Allen, Mike Barlow, Pat Borthwick, Nina Boyd, Amanda Dalton, Suzannah Evans, Andy Fletcher, Ian Harker, Gaia Holmes, Sarah Hymas, Adam Lowe, Andrew McMillan, Allison McVety, Kei Miller, Kim Moore, Helen Mort, Simon Murray, Zodwa Nyoni, Ian Parks, Fiona Sampson, Peter Sansom, Seni Seneviratne, Clare Shaw and Martha Sprackland. As well as the readings and six workshops there is a debate about arts funding from the Leeds Salon, as well as talks and workshops on publishing, on Geoffrey Hill from Ed Reiss, on Robert Graves from Ian Parks, and about the voice of the Irish migrant in poetry run by Ian Duhig.
There will also be readings from Leeds Trinity University and their students featuring Oz Hardwick and Amina Alyal, the winners of the LIPPfest poetry competition, and a display from Artlink West Yorkshire. Lancaster Litfest will also be making an appearance with their Poetry Bookcase for an opportunity to browse and buy poetry titles.
