Manchester open-top bus tour

entry picture

The lights are bright along the Curry Mile

No matter what time of night you go there

It’s quite a sight along the Curry Mile

You can’t rush home from Rusholme, Manchester

I’ve spent some strange days up at Cheetham Hill

In the shadow of Strangeways’ mosque-like tower

There’s no danger the taxman gets his fill

The Cheetham folk cheat him with all their power

If you dare, take the late 192 bus

From Piccadilly station to Longsight

Don’t stare at anyone, don’t make a fuss

That would be silly; they’re too strong to fight

This is Manchester in all its splendour

This is Manchester, serial offender

Great, short simple poem with a punch! Like the internal rhymes as well.

Just Popadum down here!

Nice one Ant, its a very atmospheric place with wonderful sights and smells, love it - work nearby! - You've captured all sides of it here though, cheers Jeff

Hi I like the pun Cheetham and cheat him. I've been through the 'Curry Mile' several times. Nice photo.
