Being Overly Dramatic

I pause at your picture,

trace a finger over flat contours

Melancholy names my mood.

Books do not entertain,

music is torn.

I wish

for a seroxat fix

where angles are softer

and corners blurred,

yet

I smile to hear your voice,

although mind made

and  as distant

as your touch

I have to agree with the others - you do carry us along well in this wistful mood!

Great opening line and worthy supportive words.

Some lovely sonics in here Stella...love 'seroxat fix'. Can almost see you on the phone to him, tracing his picture :)

I'm not sure that the title implies hope - I'd say more of a playing down of the sadness - maybe a wry nod to the fact that us poets are prone to the dramatic and that this is, as the poem suggests, just a mood. I like the way you express yourself - the restlessness you convey - the idea of music being torn is a vivid one. You do carry the reader with you in that mood.
