Help wanted! We're looking for an assistant on WOL's Gig Guide
Feel you spend a lot of time on the computer and would like to put some of that time to more productive, satisfying use? Write Out Loud is looking for someone to help out our Gig Guide editor, David Andrew, pictured.
The Gig Guide is a key service that WOL provides at national level. We are now listing around 500 events in the monthly calendar, the majority of which have been submitted by event organisers.
There are two aspects of the work on the Gig Guide that we are looking for help with. We need to check that submitted events are relevant to the WOL service before accepting them. While we prefer organisers to list events, we do some event listing ourselves.
The work can, of course, be done from anywhere that you can log onto the WOL site. The time commitment is a few hours a week, depending on how many event are submitted / listed by us. Some experience in data entry and review would be helpful, but no technical IT skills are needed. Full training will be given.
Your involvement will help us support those who are enthusiastic about poetry, help you appreciate the breadth of the poetry scene, and give a greater sense of belonging to it. The number of events we list shows how lively poetry in performance has become. There is a shared sense of purpose among the small, but perfectly-bonded Write Out Loud admin team. Join us and be part of this, too. For more information, please contact David Andrew at david@writeoutloud.net
