After a Long Day
Moon flowers lemon scented
unfold like arms of lost lovers.
There's a scent of water,
meat roasting.
In my hair I wear
hibiscus.
Evening gives in to night
as my little world wheels away
birds fly to silhouetted trees,
nearby buildings
are swallowed in darkening air.
Within a held breath,
dizzy from wine,
the sea.
I touch the table,
move forward.
