I'm Looking Up At The Stars.
Framed bright starry diadems
Bathing the sky in floods of living light
Forming glittering gilded gems
Twinkling rays in the night.
Treasures from the twinkling ray
Sweetly down the void they float
Brightly sparkling on the veil of day
Through many a melting note.
The stars are the jewels of the night
Silent as if they watch the sleeping earth
Lying in the gutter startled by the sight
Of the glistening tapestries girth.
I may be lying in the gutter
But I fly with the shooting star
Escaping the celestial clutter
So near yet so far.

Stars are our signposts to eternity...their
distance beyond our puny human comprehension.
Hazel - the first three stanzas work well with some delightful imagery but I'm not sure about the last.
The human "view" is a good idea but maybe needs
different terminology to round off what has gone before.
But that's just a personal view.
