I know you will think of me
I know you will think of me when they do not love you this way…
the infinite delight of my body on your breast
refreshing your soul with tenderness entirely
baptising your thirsty kisses without aspiring for one moment
to take control of your emotions.
I loved you entwining my breath in that furtive kiss
kindled perhaps by my devouring flame
riding my body in the pines of the wind
boldly like the hours as they engage with time.
I loved you with the onrush of a woman
delivering my breath to you at every daybreak
steeping your naked skin with jasmines
and able to drink love in your crystalline kisses.
I loved you with the idyll that grew again at dawn
Where your meek smile accompanied my gaze
And in secret the majestic wind hummed a distant song.
I loved you beyond the timed-out silence, the attraction, the sex
of words uttered as gospel
till you were drunk with my excesses.
And if this delicious madness of feeling myself as immortal as the moon
Was love unfettered, love that sported with the virgin highways of my cleft,
For certain, all things end,
as night ends with the guffaws of dawn and the moon comes out with portended trumpets,
and perhaps in your rock-strewn dreams you may remember what there was between us
perhaps with time you may lament your error and in the slender plume passion will re-awaken and you will wing your way to my heart.
I know you will think of me when they do not love you this way...
