The Phenomena of Life
The Phenomena of Life
Life is a phenomena that deserves more respect!
We take it for granted,
Try and understand its meaning
But the meaning is infinite,
From the very day we are born
We know not when it will end or
If it ends at all and we battle
Cynics and those taught prejudicial
Hate,
Understand ‘they’ are not a foe
But fearful,
For a doctor or a nurse will tell you
As a child dies in Africa and Asia;
‘This being is not here to take your wealth!’
We ‘All’ have love to give,
But we tether it to our souls –
And try make sure it doesn’t escape
While hugs and cuddles go - short supplied;-
Passing fellow beings on bitter streets of
Loneliness and we’re all judging each too quickly,
Our eyes settling instead
On culture trends and how
We’ve spent a purse; Our dress sense
And things never really meant that’s said
To hide away the hurt at what we
Have become,
As we’re never really taught compassion –
But history of war,
We’re never taught forgiveness,
Never taught that power can be a sickness,
And we’re carrying on a torch of violence
Through the innocence of a child’s eyes,
A child’s heart.
All around we’re posturing
With battle talk, politics, religion,
And the insults – the bad language
Thrown at each to claim a point of
Victory are said upon the same air
We all breathe,
The same World we’re all meant
To share,
Words of hate all under the same Sun,
We’re growing cold!
Tending only our own
When we All, belong,
Yet, the cure for the malady
Of ignorance is never far away –
Just a finger-tip away
And it’s slumbering -
Sitting deep inside – dormant and
Neglected;
That’s your heart,
Right there inside of you
And outside of you if you have
The courage to extend it to
Our fellow citizen of World,
Each man and woman
Can share a little of its warmth
By allowing freedom for its expression
And fear it not,
For in essence
We are all born fearful;
Tears are shed at birth
Yet each babe,
Needs nurturing and tending
To empower he to grow,
Covered with blood the same
Colour all over our World;
We are all from the same race,
The same Earth,
With the same,
Universal love,
Let it show,
Let it show.
