now that it has all gone cold

Now that its all gone cold
The guilt seeps in
An anxious frown
Replaces a passionate grin
And we are lying
Side by side
Wondering
If we should have gone this far
As slumber rests the wilting parts
As racing rests the beating hearts
Half dreams paint unusual art
In the minds eye
Still lying alongside
The heat of each other
subside
Under creased sheets
Stains seep
We sleep in the hope this feeling
May evaporate from skin
On this bed
On this beach
a receding tide of passion
Where once we fitted into in each other
We emerge
Pretending  it never happened
With a glint in the eye
And a memory turning rose’
Every so quickly.

J'aime ce poème, même que c'est triste...

Good stuff, Pete. If I had wrote it, I would personally split it up into a few stanzas as it left me a bit of breath reading it, but good stuff still!
