Benjamin Zephaniah at Liverpool festival debate

entry picture

Award-winning performance poet Benjamin Zephaniah will be at Liverpool’s Writing on the Wall festival on 1 May at a debate entitled: Multiculturalism or muscular liberalism? at the small concert room at St George’s Hall at 7.30pm. Is multiculturalism the new whipping boy for the economic crisis or has it really failed?  Does it undermine western values? What are western values and what does it mean to be British? Is David Cameron’s “muscular liberalism” the answer, or will it lead to a new “Powellism”? Join the debate. Tickets are available from the Unity Theatre box office, 1 Hope Place, L1 9BG. Tel: 0844 873 2888. Or, to purchase online, click here. For a full list of events at the festival, from 28 April, to 31 May, click here.
