Religious and spiritual poems wanted for cathedral competition
Not much time left to enter Manchester Cathedral’s 14th International Religious Poetry Competition, with a first prize of £450. Closing date is 29 June. Poems should be broadly religious or spiritual in nature and should appeal to those who would not necessarily describe themselves as such. The judge this year is Suzanne Batty, pictured, whose own poetry collection, The Barking Thing, is published by Bloodaxe. Suzanne also teaches creative writing at Sheffield Hallam University. For details on how to enter, contact the cathedral office on 0161 833 2220 or email organiser Rachel Mann at rachelmann@hotmail.co.uk
