United Press is running a competition to encourage more people into writing poetry.

Entry is free and the closing date is 31st December. £1,000 goes to the winner.

The competition is open to poets of all ages.

Last year’s winners were Stephanie Spiers of Rising Brook, Staffordshire and Marjorie Beachill of Wath-upon-Dearne.
