THE RIGHT ROAD - sing gospel!

CHORUS >

O Lord lead me to the right road!  O Lord lead me to the right road

O Lord lead me to the right road...that's where I long to be

...................

I was a sinner man - yes sir-ee... I loved sin and sin loved me

We were thicker than flies could be - be wise and heed this warning

REPEAT CHORUS

The easy life was what I sought - everything that could be bought

All the pleasures that could be taught - from dusk right through till dawning

REPEAT CHORUS

Then one troubled night I dreamed - of more to life than sin had schemed

And something bright and gentle gleamed as I lay there yawning

REPEAT CHORUS

When I woke up that wondrous day I knew I'd found a better way

And heard a voice within me say old sin was just for scorning

The good Lord led me to the right road - The good Lord led me to the right road

The good Lord led me to the right road - that's where I love to be

(alt. that's where I'll always be)

So all you sinners - rise and repent...hear the Word the Lord has sent

And live the life the Lord has lent - be born anew each morning

The good Lord led me to the right road - the good Lord led me to the right road

The good Lord led me to the right road - that's where I love to be.

Good one M.C.
reminded me of being in black Brooklin some years ago and the ladies in big hats singing and dancing the bifters in church.
(also being amazed at how many diddy little churches were scattered around)

Mind, I didn`t venture out at night.

Enjoyed this, MC. It captures the atmosphere of a southern states baptist chapel rocking on a sunday morning.
I myself have not been able to stop singing "Oh Happy Day" since Tottenham beat Manchester United.
