(Benito Mussolini)
(Benito Mussolini)
“IL DUCE”
Forged back in time
History to create, he made reforms,
That saved the State
His Fascist movement would,
Seal his fate.
Black shirts, brown shirts all the same
Don’t need your votes, we shall remain.
Opposition disappears; a nation now is filled with tears
Democracy was dealt a blow, censor the press,
They’ll never know.
The League of Nations isolate
“IL Duce’s” atrocities to fellow states
Allied with the Fűhrer, subservient ways
World war two was calling,
In battle he engaged.
He took defeat from all around
On a downward spiral, that wasn’t planned
His loyal supporter’s turned away
The force of nature had, had his day.
In forty-five it was the end
For “IL Duce” and his “Fűhrer” friend.
Milan would call him one last time,
Piazza Loreto saw him upside-down.
Do as we say,
Not as we do.
This was Benito’s,
Fascist view.
