Strangely Named Animals and Insects

The lesser spotted Ladybird-

no spots or feathers-

can't fly-in bad weather-

blows off on the wind-

then wonders why?

But then just get's on with life and doesn't cry.

There's the greater striped Tiger Moth-

well it's mostly sort of black

really, with 2 orange eyes at the back.

And it has two wings-

both of them are black-

Oh yes and it sings-

well it's more of hum really-

oh by the way I forgot to mention, it stings!

Finally, despite their size, they are great swimmers, and by no means least-

we have the 8 ton Hippoppotamus!

quite big for their size-

you see they do like to feast.

The male only has one ear and two toes on each of his six foot feet.

However, the female Hippopotamus, at only 5 tons in weight, is a very solitary animal-

a quite quiet, long-haired frail but attractive wrinkly beast-

whose face, nose and mouth is nearly as big as her bottom - is!
