A Wirral Heritage – Ingimund's Vikings 902AD
Seven seconds slap the bow-
Seven seconds splash the oars-
Seven seconds wash the shore-
Seven seconds wash the welcoming mussels-
Seven seconds,seven seconds,seven seconds-
Seven seconds welcomes a sun glinting new wave.
My name is Ingimund (Norseman) I am the leader of
thousands of Wirral Vikings, the year is 902 AD.
By agreement with your Saxon King Ethelred
following years of battles in Eire and Anglesea.
We have been bequeathed land known as The Wirral
which is mainly swamp land bordered by two Rivers-
The Dee and The Mersey
plus The Irish Sea...
Seven seconds slap the bow-
Seven seconds splash the oars-
Seven seconds splash the shore-
Seven seconds wash the welcoming mussels-
Seven seconds,seven seconds,seven seconds-
Seven seconds welcomes a sun glinting new wave.
My Viking oarsmen have rowed over 40 miles
as Odin and the wind have deserted us this day
with bleeding hands and bleeding souls
we Vikings have only one fear in life-
that is to die without a Viking sword in our hand.
As we arrive in our longboats, tired and weary of war.
Ready to work and inhabseconds-
Seven seconds welcomes a sun glinting new wave.
it and protect this green and hallowed land...
...our Heritage is to become just 'Human Driftwood' it is written in the blood of many.
Seven seconds slap the bow – as we approach The Wirral Coast.
Seven seconds splash the oars – as my Vikings row with pride and hope inside.
Seven seconds splash the shore – that we will soon inhabit, protect, live and work on.
Seven seconds wash the welcoming mussels-
Seven seconds,seven seconds,seven seconds-
Seven seconds welcomes a sun glinting new wave....
