Sound and fury to mark International Women's Day
Performance poet Zena Edwards and fellow artists will be marking International Women’s Day, Friday 8 March, in London tonight by weaving spoken word with sound and movement and exploring 21st century representations of womanhood and female anger in a project based on the Greek myth of the Three Furies. In Rye, East Sussex, tonight at an event called Domestic Disturbance in aid of Hastings, Eastbourne and Weald Women’s Refuge, poets including Kate Tym will be performing. Entry to the event, from 6-11pm at the School Creative Centre, New Road, Rye, is £10. More details
Tomorrow, on Saturday 9 March, Write Out Loud regular Laura Taylor, along with Alison Down, will be performing poetry as Radical Liverpool celebrates International Women’s Day at the Casa Bar, Hope Street, from 7-10.30pm. There’s music from Our Morals plus guests. Entry is free.
