Trumpeting the return of Best of Manchester Poets with volume 3
The eagerly awaited third volume of Best of Manchester Poets will be launched later this month, Puppywolf’s publisher, Keir Thomas, has said. He added: “I'm pleased to say BoMP hasn't changed. Volume three brings together poets old and new, and performance and page artists. It's a celebration of Manchester talent unlike no other.” More than 130 poets are included in the book, which is just under 200 pages. More than 500 poems were submitted. Keir said: “For some reason elephants are popular this year.”
The launch is on Thursday 28 March at 7.30pm at the Eighth Day Cafe, Oxford Road, Manchester. Poets in the book who want to read on the night should let host Dominic Berry know as quickly as possible when they arrive. With over 130 poets in the book it might have to be first come, first served.
Laura Taylor has written for Write Out Loud about the thrill at being included in volume 2, and the excitement of the launch night: “I try to be all nonchalant and cool about it, like this is just an everyday thing to happen to me, but the fact is I’m like a kid on too much sherbert and have told absolutely everyone I know, twice.”
Best of Manchester Poets Volume 3 has been edited by Cathy Bryant, Steve O'Connor, Angela Smith and Keir Thomas.
