HOME SWEET HOME
What is happening in my country??
HOME SWEET HOME.
This is my place!!
This is my space!!
She cried.
Trying to hold back,
Trying to hide
The tears.
The fear
Of uncertainty
About the future.
It’s not a cattle shed!!
It’s not just a place
To rest my head!!
This is, my sanctuary
My security,
Familiarity.
My community.
All I know.
All my hopes
And aspirations
Have lived here.
To be passed on
To generations
Yet to be.
Can’t you see?
This is my home.
Love lives here with me.
Death has been here
And left me memories.
Precious memories
Memories wrapped
Within the walls.
Now they could be trapped
Within the halls
Of Westminster.
These are
Irreplaceable memories
I won’t leave behind
Simply because
I’m being fined
For having too much
Space.
But this is my space!!
My place!!
She screamed.
In anger now.
Never dreamed
It could come to this.
Never dreamed
She would be forced
To kiss
Goodbye
To all she knew.
Now the tears
Are coming through.
Tears of anger
And frustration.
At the hopelessness
Of her situation.
One lonely
And haunted voice
In a world of
Shrinking choices.
All she wanted
Was a dream
Or at least that’s what
She hoped for
Now she’ll have
To grope for
A straw
The straw that may
Change the law
In her favour.
But for now
Her uncertain future
Seems to be
To rearrange
Her life.
To change
All she strived for.
Just because
Her place
Has
Too much
space.

I like the way you have captured her emotions and the disjointed layout echoing the turmoil in her mind.
On a personal and purely emotional level I am with this all the way.
On a political level I am more cynical. I've never seen such public outpourings of empathy ( or is it pseudo empathy) for the families whose breadwinner is made redundant and whose mortgage company forecloses. They too have built up memories hopes and dreams.
