Perfect Day
Just one perfect day,
is all we had,
till life turned sour
and things went bad.
Walking hand in hand,
surrounded by oak trees,
flowing streams,
squirrels playing,
birds courting.
My knight in shining armour,
you said,
charging on your white steed,
to defend my honour,
SOLDIER BLUE,
I truly loved you.
Reaching our destination,
settling down in the open air,
caressing and kissing,
pride in your eyes,
as you held me close,
saying,
the soldiers back at barracks would be,
oh so so jealous,
comparing me,
to the actress,
out of 'crocodile dundee',
was I just floating in fantasy ?
You went onto pastures new,
left me behind for another,
I couldn't give you,
what she could,
'stability',
I begged you not to marry her,
I even told her she had better look after you,
the look she gave me,
could have killed me,
but soldier blue,
you still chose her,
were we just an NHS experiment.
NB Explanation for Steve, my mum a nursing tutor, soldier blue's dad my first shrink, our families made sure we didn't make it.
My drink was spiked and both our parents held high positions in the NHS.
Noetic-fret!
