Guardian readers nominate debut poetry collection for award
A debut collection of poetry nominated by readers has won a place on the Guardian first book award longlist. The Shipwrecked House, by Claire Trévien, pictured, is published by Penned in the Margins. The 10th slot on the longlist is reserved for a title that emerges from Guardian reader nominations. Trévien, who grew up in a coastal town in Birttany, is editor of Sabotage Reviews, a website that promotes independent presses. One of the poems from The Shipwrecked House is featured as the Guardian's Saturday Poem. You can read it here
