I wonder, did they hear our defenceless citizens' cries?

People forced to choose between food and heat

Did they mean to bring our poor a-begging at some banker's feet?

Or are they just in chaos?

 

Public servants suffer under a two year pay freeze.

Did they really just forget to extend this to our MPs?

Or are they just in chaos?

 

Royal Mail is sold off on the cheap, while profiteers carve up utilities, hospitals and schools.

Did they think we wouldn't notice? Are they playing us for fools?

Or are they just in chaos?

 

If this is a plan, 

then it is nasty and pernicious.

If this is what they wanted 

then they really are quite vicious.

and Workfare back to Atos,

'our' government's clearly evil,

Or merely, just in chaos.
