£4.88

£4.88

Your body was found dead in your flat, three months gone and smelling like hell.

They came and took you away, to the morgue downtown, an unhappy place.

Clearing your flat they found £4.88, not much to show for a lonely death.

Always on your own, eternally in death. How sad no one will see you buried, a pauper’s death, the undertaker the only witness at this solemn occasion.

C’mon, c’mon, wake up and shout: “Where’s my lost love? Where are my old mates?”

When you’re gone you’ll be just a corpse, a rotting corpse pushing up daisies.

How sad to be alone especially in death, a forgotten man, thrown away just like the rubbish

no his rent was paid by direct debit out off his account. it seems he had cash in to pay it for 2yrs. the tv was on. his corpse was mummified on the sofa. workmen broke in to check pipes. had a shock lol.

One upside to renting. You wouldn't be left
alone for two years before someone knocked down
the door to find out why you hadn't paid! :-)

I recall attending a sudden death where the
deceased was sitting in his chair. He lived
alone and the system clicked in to complete
the necessary functions of life's end. But if
I am due to leave this life - as we all are -
then I'd like to take my leave like that, in my
own armchair in familiar surroundings...alone
if that is my choice.
