Disaster
My PC died. My PC died taking the bones of what was to be my next collection with it.
It is unrecoverable, short of taking a £700 punt on forensic recovery.
Gutted doesn't come close.
I'm reverting back to notebook and pen

Our sympathies too Paul.Ours jossed it recently and we are now on a new Packard Bell. The keyboard of which is like typing on a sponge cake, and the cursor has a mind of its own.Makes us feel as if were defusing a bomb.Bring on the paracetamols! That said, our old one comes back occasionally to visit us,in its death throes-so keep tapping-who knows?
but I am going to bide my time and hang onto the hard drive in the pff chance
Because I scattershot a lot around sites like here some I should be able to find and I have three entries out for competitions containing 15 poems so they at least are retrievable
My sympathy Paul,
Even when mine works, I don`t know how to use the bloody thing correctly.
But you can`t just let immortal stuff die,
Give up the wine and spend the £700.

The downside of "progress" we can certainly
identify with. My previous netbook lost its
its screen image just long enough after purchase
to make the inevitable cost of check and repair
fall before the chance of a new (alternative)
make and so far I've been lucky with it. But
like all things electrical/technogical it can
defy human ambitions at times...hiss and boo!
But the compensations outnumber the cussed
blips that occur.
I agree with Harry - sacrifice something else
and make your peace with the wizardry of cyber
space and its many wonders.
